Awareness and Advocacy
Approximately 5% of people understand aphasia. More than 30% of people who have a stroke are affected by aphasia. In Canada, over 165,000 people are living with aphasia. Aphasia masks a person's inherent competence.
A person with aphasia...
knows what he/she wants
can make his/her own decisions
is a competent adult
