Awareness and Advocacy
Approximately 5% of people understand aphasia.  More than 30% of people who have a stroke are affected by aphasia. In Canada, over 120,000 people are living with aphasia. ​Aphasia masks a person's inherent competence.

can make his/her own decisions
is a competent adult
