CAPN-ON logo.png
Who we are:

CAPN-ON is a network of Speech-Language Pathologists across Ontario.

We support community programs for people with aphasia.

We help people find programs close to them.

We also help programs share ideas, resources, and support each other.

Our goal is simple: more access, more connection, and better support for people with aphasia in their communities.

What is               ?

Awareness and Advocacy

Approximately 5% of people understand aphasia.  More than 30% of people who have a stroke are affected by aphasia. In Canada, over 165,000 people are living with aphasia. Aphasia masks a person's true competence.

A person with aphasia...

knows what he/she wants

can make his/her own decisions

is a competent adult

Awareness and Advocacy

last full sentence for the rest of your life."
- Stephen Goff, person with aphasia
